London-based distributor DRG has picked up worldwide rights to the true crime docuseries Killer Instinct.

The 10 x 60-minute series – originally coproduced by ITN Productions and Investigation Discovery (ID) – is presented by journalist Chris Hansen (pictured) and was first announced by ID in January. The program debuted on the Discovery Communications-owned net on Monday (August 17).

Killer Instinct looks at some of the most notorious murders in the U.S., with cases including a man who abducted a 12-year-old love interest and then murdered her family, as well as teenage lesbian partners who killed their grandparents.

The program revisits the cases through grisly accounts of the killings, in addition to interviews with witnesses, survivors, the victims’ families and the murderers themselves.

Killer Instinct joins DRG’s roster of specialist factual titles, which include GeniusJesus CodeMetropolis and Obsession. The company most recently acquired the worldwide rights to Blakeway Productions’ doc Prince Philip: The Plot to Make a King.
