Twofour-owned producer Boomerang has hired Shona Baldwin as director of development, a newly created position.
Effective in September, she will focus on growing and diversifying the company’s factual and factual entertainment slates, which include Channel 4′s Posh Pawn and ITV’s Bargain Fever Britain. She will report to managing director Gareth Rees.
Baldwin spent the past two years heading up the factual and entertainment development team for Outline Productions. Prior to that, she was the head of format development at Studio Lambert where she was part of the team that created and produced unscripted titles such as Gogglebox, The Great British Interior Design Challenge and Million Second Quiz.
In other Twofour-related news, Channel 4 has commissioned Boomerang’s Cardiff-based sister company Indus Films to produce a second season of luxury food series The World’s Most Expensive Food as well as spin-off special The World’s Most Expensive Food Christmas and a new interior design series called Britain’s Finest Interiors (working title).
Finally, Channel 4 has also commissioned Boomerang to produce 10 days of live coverage for the IPC World Paralympics Athletics Championships, which will take place in Doha, Qatar this October.
