UK broadcaster ITV has ordered culinary format The Chopping Block from producer Twofour for its daytime channel.

Hosted by English chef Rosemary Shrager (pictured, left) and The Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite (right), the series sees pairs of amateur chefs put to the test over a week-long course at a British culinary school.

The 20 x 60-minute series will combine cooking competition with reality, offering viewers a comprehensive look at the budding culinary artists both in and out of the kitchen, from preparing meals to relaxing and sharing a drink at the bar.

Andrew Mackenzie and Rachel Innes-Lumsden serve as executive producers for Twofour. The format was commissioned by Helen Warner for ITV daytime.
