Renewed and returning: “Married at First Sight,” “DVF”

In this week’s round-up, renewals are on the way for series on U.S. nets FYI, Food Network and E!.

FYI is bringing back relationship docuseries Married at First Sight: The First Year for a second season on October 13 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The Kinetic Content-produced program – which has received a 7 x 60-minute episode order – is a companion series to the FYI hit Married at First Sight and follows couples who got married in March 2014 after meeting one another for the first time throughout their second year of matrimony.

Meanwhile, Food Network is bringing back Halloween Wars for its fifth season. Hosted by Rossi Morreale, the show finds five teams working to create Halloween-themed edible displays that will be judged by cake decorator Shinmin Li and make-up artist Brian Kinney, as well as a rotating panel of celebrity judges. The winning team is declared the Halloween Wars Champion and also receives a US$50,000 grand prize.

Halloween Wars debuts on October 4 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The season will include four episodes with a finale slated for October 25 at 9 p.m. EST/PST.

Finally, E! will premiere the second season of House of DVF on Sunday (September 13) at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The Electus and Hud:sun Media-produced series welcomes aspiring designers into a house where they are mentored by iconic fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg and must compete to become her global brand ambassador through such challenges as styling celebrity clients, brainstorming new designs and traveling to assignments.

Following the September 13 premiere, the show will move on September 20 to its regular 10 p.m. EST/PST time slot.
