Timothy Kuryak boards Up TV

U.S. cable network Up TV has named former TLC exec Timothy Kuryak as senior VP of unscripted development and production.

U.S. cable network Up TV has named Timothy Kuryak (pictured) as senior VP of unscripted development and production.

In the newly created position, Kuryak will be charged with overseeing development and production of all unscripted content. He will be based out of Up TV’s Los Angeles offices, reporting to executive VP and GM Amy Winter.

The Emmy-nominated Kuryak brings to the network 15 years of experience, having developed, produced and overseen format programming for broadcast and cable networks both domestically and internationally. He was also a member of teams that helped to launch OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, Planet Green for Discovery Networks and ReelzChannel.

Kuryak recently served as senior VP of development at All3Media-owned LionTV, where he was responsible for the development and sale of projects to a wide range of networks. In 2011, the exec served as VP of production and development at Discovery Communications-owned TLC, overseeing more than 25 series per year, including Who Do You Think You Are?, Little People Big World, What Not to Wear and Say Yes to the Dress.

Prior to boarding TLC, the exec also held the title of VP of production for Fox World, where he oversaw the international production of 40 series, including Beauty & the Geek, Joe Millionaire, The Simple Life and The Ex-Wives Club.
