David Mott named CEO of ITV Studios Australia

ITV Studios Australia has appointed Nine Network's MD in Perth, David Mott (pictured), to head the company as CEO.

ITV Studios Australia has hired David Mott (pictured) as CEO.

Mott – currently the MD of Nine Network in Perth and network program executive – will be charged with driving ITV Studios Australia’s strategy while developing further opportunities for the Australian market when he takes up the post in November.

He will report to Maria Kyriacou, MD of ITV Studios Global Entertainment and rest of world.

The appointment comes weeks after ITV Studios Australia MD Anita Jacoby exited the company, citing British parent company ITV’s restructuring of leadership at the Australian network.

Prior to boarding Nine Network in 2013, Mott served as chief programming officer at Network Ten for more than a decade, where he led the network’s brand repositioning with a focused commissioning strategy. He is responsible for having launched such successful localized series as Big BrotherAustralian Idol, The Biggest Loser and Masterchef. He has also held various senior titles at Australia’s Seven Network.

Elsewhere, Augustus Dulgaro has been designated to the newly created position of COO for ITV Studios Australia as part of Mott’s new team. He will continue in his role as executive VP of distribution for Asia Pacific for ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
