New York-based Love & Hip Hop prodco Monami Entertainment has hired former True Entertainment exec Dorothy Toran as its vice president of production.

Reporting to CEO Mona Scott-Young, Toran will oversee production for forthcoming television projects.

Toran had previously served as executive in charge of production at True Entertainment, and has worked on hundreds of hours of programming for such networks as Bravo, Discovery, TV One and Essence Communications, as well as with Sirens Media.

“As we continue our focus on creating great unscripted fare, expanding our slate to include other formats and venture into physical production, Dorothy brings a wealth of experience and understands how to work strategically to maximize efficiency that will help take Monami Entertainment to the next level,” said Scott-Young in a statement.

Monami is behind the Love & Hip Hop franchise airing on VH1, as well as K. Michelle: My Life.
