Back Roads brings on development VP

New York-based indie Back Roads Entertainment has hired former M2 Pictures exec Riley Robbins (pictured) as VP of development.

New York-based indie Back Roads Entertainment has hired former M2 Pictures VP Riley Robbins (pictured) as VP of development.

Effective immediately, the newly created position has Robbins responsible for the development of original unscripted series while driving digital and branded content. He will report to company founder and Pawn Stars co-creator Colby Gaines.

Prior to boarding M2 pictures, Robbins previously served as VP of U.S. development for Toronto-based JV Productions, responsible for having developed and sold forthcoming series Curse of the Frozen Gold for Animal Planet and property format Yours, Mine and Ours for Bravo. He has also worked as VP of development for Stuart Krasnow Productions and director of development for FremantleMedia North America.

Back Roads Entertainment – the prodco behind Cooking Channel’s Big Bad BBQ Battle and Yahoo!’s Culinary Beats –has recently wrapped production on season 2 of Joking Off for MTV2. The company is also currently in production on season 2 of Lake Life for DIY, with additional projects underway at Pop, Travel channel, HGTV and Cooking Channel.
