BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) and All3Media Germany are combining their unscripted format catalogs under their jointly-owned Tower Productions banner, which will also carry formats from Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment (MME) following a company restructuring.

Production will continue solely under the Tower Productions brand, which will now have access to both BBC Worldwide’s and All3Media’s unscripted catalogs, along with unscripted formats from Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment (MME). According to a release issued by BBCWW, MME “will no longer be promoting its market presence as a separate company” and all staff are moving over to Tower Productions.

Tower Productions was formed in 2009 as a JV between All3Media – a major shareholder in MME Moviement AG – and BBC Worldwide in order to produce and develop BBCWW formats in Germany.

“Transferring the MME format catalog and staff to Tower Productions will subsequently ensure a clear market presence and a single point of call for customers of both format catalogs,” reads a statement from BBCWW.

Arne Kreutzfeldt has been tapped as MD of Tower Productions. The exec previously served as executive producer and head of factual entertainment programming at both Tower Productions and MME. Meanwhile, former BBCWW executive producer Philipp Schmid, is to serve as creative director and deputy MD at Tower Productions.

Current MME MD Marc Lammek is to exit the company “by way of mutual agreement” over the course of the company’s restructuring.

“Combining the two great format catalogs under one banner will make Tower a production power-house,” said Tobi de Graaff, executive VP of Western Europe for global markets at BBCWW, in a statement. “I can’t imagine there being a more interesting and successful catalog, with international hits ranging from Dancing With the Stars and Top Gear to Four in a Bed and Undercover Boss, to rival this partnership. With this new direction for Tower Productions in place we look to explore further opportunities in Western Europe.”
