Global producer-distributor Endemol Shine Group and multi-platform media company AwesomenessTV (pictured) are entering a multi-year strategic partnership to extend the international reach of the latter, millennial-focused brand.
Under the deal, Endemol Shine Group’s premium channel network Endemol Beyond is to launch local language, owned-and-operated AwesomenessTV channels in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Brazil. The company will also support and grow AwesomenessTV’s existing talent-led channels in these markets, and incubate new talent and verticals across the net.
The strategic partnership will leverage AwesomenessTV franchises, such as docu-reality series Cheerleaders and interview-based strand IMO. Meanwhile, new original content created under the deal is to include long-form series and formats for both digital and television distribution.
Further, Endemol Shine Group will also use the company’s global distribution resources to roll out locally created AwesomenessTV series and formats into new markets around the world.
AwesomenessTV originated as a YouTube channel and multi-channel network, and has grown into an entertainment company producing series for such platforms as children’s net Nickelodeon and SVOD service Netflix. Endemol Beyond, meanwhile, produces and distributes online content, and currently generates more than 1.8 billion views per month across international hubs.
