Global ultra HD channel Insight has ordered the travelling street magic series Around the World in 80 Tricks from UK indie Woodcut Media.

The 10 x 60-minute series follows former break-dancer-turned-magician Magical Bones (pictured) and magician Pete Heat as they traverse Europe and Asia showcasing their trademark brand of illusions through stand-up comedy and street magic.

Each episode spotlights one of the street performers as they present their magic on the unsuspecting public, local performers and celebrities in such cities as Barcelona, Mumbai, Seoul and Manchester. The magicians will also reveal tips and secrets through a “show and tell” segment that allows viewers to perfect their magical craft at home.

Global factual entertainment channel Insight launched at Cannes’ MIPCOM market today (October 5).

“We’re delighted to have been commissioned by Insight to make one of the first series for their channel, and of course it’s exciting to be producing a show in a new format, with new talent,” said Derren Lawford, creative director at Woodcut Media and executive producer for the series, in a statement.
