Tel Aviv-based distributor Gil Formats has sold the French format rights for Life on Duty┬áto Shine France following a screening at Cannes’ MIPCOM market.

The deal is the second since the company – an offshoot of Gil Productions – launched in April. Warner Bros. International Television has also optioned the format for Australia, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Life On Duty follows three different emergency services workers – police, fire and hospital trauma – and contrasts their professional and personal challenges. The format was originally commissioned as a 12-episode series by Israel’s Channel 10 and will air in winter 2016.

Part of the Endemol Shine Group, Shine France has produced local versions of unscripted formats such as The Voice, MasterChef and One Born Every Minute.
