Turner Broadcasting System has elevated Jamie Friend (pictured) to the position of CFO for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective November 1.

Friend, who is currently VP of corporate strategy and insights, will oversee the company’s expanding portfolio of news, kids and general entertainment on networks including truTV, CNN International, TCM, Boomerang and Cartoon Network.

Based out of the media conglomerate’s London offices, Friend will report to company CFO of international Aksel van der Wal, while assisting Turner EMEA president Giorgio Stock as part of his EMEA management team.

The promotion comes as Turner EMEA continues to expand this year with its Boomerang, TNT and Boing brands all growing in the region.

Prior to boarding the company in 2013, Friend served as head of strategy for digital platforms at Arqiva, a British telecommunications firm providing infrastructure and broadcast transmission facilities across the UK and Ireland. He previously held senior strategy and business development roles at a number of companies, including The Walt Disney Company.
