London-based Passion Distribution has promoted Elin Thomas (pictured) to director of global sales.

Since boarding the company in 2014 as global head of sales, Thomas has played a key role in expanding the sales and formats division, where she licensed RuPaul’s Drag Race to UK broadcaster TruTV and sent Paradise Hotel and Worst Driver into a number of international markets.

Thomas previously worked at BBC Worldwide for 18 years, most recently serving as director of global formats, and overseeing Dancing With the Stars and the Great Bake Off brands.

“Our format business has grown since [Thomas] joined the company, both in understanding and revenue. Her experience and ambitions and the ambitions of the business are completely aligned,” said Passion CEO Sally Miles in a statement.
