Australia’s Channel Nine has commissioned a local version of the UK format You’re Back In the Room.

The comedy game show was created by London-based production company Tuesday’s Child and is distributed in Australia by BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand (BBCWW ANZ).

FremantleMedia Australia will produce the Australian version of the series, which sees five strangers taking on a series of simple challenges while hypnotized. The tasks become increasingly difficult as hypnotic triggers cause them to sabotage their chances of success. The winners receive cash prizes.

The commission is the fourth to be produced by FremantleMedia Australia as part of a multi-year deal with BBCWW ANZ. The company also produces Dancing with the Stars for Seven, Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook Melbourne for SBS and The Great Australian Bake Off for the Foxtel-owned LifeStyle Food channel.

You’re Back in the Room debuted in the UK in March and has been renewed for a second season.

France’s W9 and the Netherlands’ RTL have also commissioned local versions of the format.
