Former HBO Nordic head Hervé Payan will take over as CEO of HBO Europe, following the departure of CEO Linda Jensen (pictured) at the end of the year.

Jensen’s exit comes alongside an “assessment of operations” that will see HBO Nordic, HBO Netherlands and HBO Europe consolidated under one umbrella organization, led by Payan, who will begin the position on January 1.

The senior management team reporting to Payan will include Line Mykland, COO and executive VP of Nordic; Ondrej Zach, COO and executive VP of Central Europe; Antony Root, executive VP of original programming and production for HBO Europe; Christina Sulebakk, executive VP of marketing for HBO Europe; Gordon Finlayson, general counsel for HBO Europe; and Szilveszter Palvolgyi, CFO of HBO Europe.

Before launching HBO Nordic in 2012, Payan held senior positions at television companies Orange, Telepiu and FilmNet.

“This reorganization brings together a wealth of exceptional abilities and experience. The European television business is evolving quickly and we will be well positioned to take advantage of all opportunities that emerge,” said Payan in a statement.
