Snooki and JWOWW are back with a show aimed at millennial moms
Jersey Shore stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley (pictured) are set to star in a reality series for Awestruck. Snooki & JWOWW: Moms with Attitude will premiere on November 13 via Verizon’s go90 platform, with sneak peeks airing on Awestruck’s YouTube Channel. Aimed at a demo of millennial moms, the new lifestyle net is an offshoot of Dreamworks and Hearst’s multi-platform media company Awesomeness TV.
Passion sells Timber Kings, Home By the Sea into Africa
London-based distributor Passion has sold several factual and lifestyle titles out of the DISCOP Africa market in Johannesburg, South Africa. Viasat Explore picked up seasons one through three of Timber Kings (35 x 60 minutes) and Carver Kings (14 x 30 minutes). Viasat Crime acquired seasons one and two of Mind of a Murderer (12 x 60 minutes) and the one-offs Captive for 18 Years (1 x 60 minutes) and Batman Shootings (1 x 60 minutes). African Business Channel picked up seasons one and two of Charlie Luxton’s Home By the Sea (14 x 60 minutes), Selling Houses (20 x 60 minutes), seasons four through seven of Motorway Cops (20 x 60 minutes) and season seven of the game show Robot Wars.
Channel 4 orders World War II doc Calling Blighty
Oxford Scientific Films, Manchester’s North West Film Archive and the Imperial War Museums are teaming to produce the one-hour documentary Calling Blighty (working title) for UK pubcaster Channel 4. The doc will focus on British troops who fought against the Japanese in Burma and India during the Second World War and will feature a series of films – dubbed Calling Blighty – that soldiers made to send personal messages home to loved ones. Emma Morgan is exec producing and Paul Berczeller is directing. The doc will air in 2016.
