A 20-year creative leader and programming veteran for Discovery Communications, Marjorie Kaplan is the international content leader responsible for strategy, coordination and execution of Discovery Networks International’s content and brand strategies across the entire portfolio, and on all platforms worldwide. Discovery’s rapidly expanding international footprint includes channels in more than 220 countries and territories, where the performance of its global flagship channels like Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, ID: Investigation Discovery, Science and Turbo continue to strengthen and deepen the company’s global presence.

Kaplan oversees global brands and formats, female lifestyle, male factual, scripted, and kids – for all platforms, including linear, OTT and Free-to-Air. She leads the International Production & Development team, working with Discovery’s regional managing directors and heads of content. Kaplan also works closely with Discovery’s production companies betty, RAW, and All3Media as well as the entire production community.

In this keynote conversation at the Realscreen Summit, Kaplan will discuss her thoughts on current trends in the linear, non-linear and factual/unscripted content space, the depth of her new role at Discovery Networks International, her vision and philosophy on creator-led content, and her plans for bringing entertaining, inspiring and game-changing content to audiences worldwide, across a variety of platforms.
