A+E Networks has promoted Akhila Khanna to director of international digital media and business development.

The exec, who formerly served as digital media manager, will continue to oversee and grow digital content sales to VOD and OTT platforms outside the U.S. and, as part of her expanded remit, she will also manage digital business development projects globally, while striking partnerships with other global media and technology companies.

Khanna will also work on new channel launches and support the management of the company’s European and Middle Eastern channels. She reports to Kate Gutman, VP of international strategy and digital media.

Khanna boarded A+E in 2009 as digital media coordinator, and was transferred from New York to the London office in 2010. Prior to joining A+E, she worked as a feature segment producer at CNBC-TV18 in Mumbai and in the studio development division at NBCU in Burbank.
