U.S. network TLC has set a January air date for the full-body transformation series Skin Tight (pictured).

Produced by Austin, Texas-based Megalomedia, the series promises an intimate look at the lives of 12 Americans who have lost excessive amounts of weight through gastric bypass surgery, exercise and dieting.

Determined to remove up to 50 lbs., experienced surgeons will cut away “massive amounts of skin” through cutting edge, reconstructive surgery.

The series will feature such participants as Brian Flemming, who, after losing 400 lbs., is struggling to achieve his goals of completing an Iron Man marathon and becoming a person trainer; Ariel McWhorter, who shed 260 lbs. and is having difficulty singing and engaging in an intimate relationship; and Tim Bauer, who serves as a motivational speaker after losing 228 lbs., but still struggles to connect with his daughters and girlfriend.

Skin Tight premieres January 6 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on TLC.
