Colombia’s RCN gets “Back in the Room”

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, has secured its first Latin American adaptation for the Tuesday’s Child-made format, You’re Back In the Room (pictured).

Colombian television network RCN has ordered the 15 x 60-minute Hipnosis: Un juego de Mente and will broadcast in the weekend primetime slot starting February 14. The program will be produced by Miracol Media.

The localized hypnotic game show series will be hosted by actor, director and TV presenter Victor Mallarino, alongside hypnotist Mustafa Badawy. Five participants will compete for 5 million Colombian pesos (US$1, 500) per game, for a weekly total of 20 million Colombian pesos ($6,000).

The format has so far been produced in France, the Netherlands, Australia and the U.S. It has been optioned in numerous international territories, including Belgium, Chile, Germany, New Zealand and Spain, among others.

The original British series will broadcast its sophomore season later this year.
