The 2016 edition of the Summit Showdown will be held on Monday, February 1 at the Marriott Marquis, hosted by Drew and Jonathan Scott (pictured), co-founders and executive producers at Scott Brothers Entertainment and hosts of the international hit Property Brothers (airing in the U.S. on HGTV) as well as the series Brother vs. Brother and Buying and Selling.
Pitching hopefuls who made it through an initial adjudication round will go head-to-head to impress our host of distinguished judges with their new concept for an unscripted/non-fiction series or non-fiction documentary/one-off in this interactive competition, always a standing-room only favorite at the Summit.
Live participants will be judged on the creativity and marketability of their concept in addition to the quality and execution of their pitch.
This year’s judging panel consists of: Denise Contis, EVP, development and production, Discovery Channel; John MacDonald, EVP, head of women and family networks, Corus Entertainment; Hamish Mykura, EVP, programming and development, National Geographic Channels International; and Allison Page, SVP and general manager, HGTV, DIY and Great American Country.
