California-based producer 3 Ball Entertainment has elevated long-time executive DJ Nurre (pictured) to EVP of programming and development.
In the new position, Nurre will oversee all content development at the prodco while developing a raft of original programming for broadcast, cable, digital and OTT. His remit will also include managing the casting and development team.
Nurre first joined 3 Ball Entertainment in 2004 as an editor before rising to showrunner on a number of hit series and, most recently, as senior VP of development and current series.
His credits include Spike’s Catch a Contractor, as well as Bar Rescue and spin-off Hungry Investor; Discovery Channel’s Flying Wild Alaska; NBC’s The Biggest Loser; VH1′s Breaking Bonaduce; and the CW’s Beauty and the Geek.
“Through his immense creativity, producing prowess and leadership across multiple disciplines, DJ has been a trailblazer for 3 Ball,” said co-CEOs Todd A. Nelson and Ross Weintraub in a joint statement. “He has contributed significantly to our company’s – and some the industry’s – most enduring series, and we congratulate him on this well-earned promotion.”
