In this week’s round-up, new seasons are on the way for series on National Geographic Channel, Discovery Networks International and Discovery Canada, Science Channel and Canada’s W Network.

National Geographic Channel is heading back to Alaska for another round of its original series, Life Below Zero. The Adjacent Productions-made series shadows people living in remote corners of Alaska, and will return to the air in April. Following that premiere is season two of the Alaska-set Port Protection. Located on Prince of Wales Island, the series – also produced by Adjacent – follows the goings-on of a small community of less than 100 residents trying to get through the region’s tough winters.

Elsewhere, Discovery Networks International has signed on for a third season of Too Ugly For Love?. The betty-produced series for TLC UK finds individuals with incurable or long-term medical conditions navigating the world of dating. The show’s second season premiered in the UK on January 13, and will also broadcast across other markets this month.

Over at Discovery Canada, Jade Fever (pictured) returns for a second season on February 23. The Omnifilm Entertainment-made series follows the Bunce family of miners living and working in Jade City, British Columbia. The show premiered in March 2015.

Meanwhile, Science Channel has ordered new episodes of Outrageous Acts of Science, set to air this year. The October Films-made series compiles user-generated clips, followed by scientific explanations from a panel of experts, including astrophysicist Hakeem Oluseyi and physicist Debbie Berebichez. The program was the network’s most-watched series last year, and new episodes are to return this summer.

Canada’s W Network has also signed on for new episodes of Love it or List it Vancouver. Now in its third season, the program – produced by Big Coat Productions in association with W Network – returns on Monday (February 8) at 10 p.m. EST/PST for the first of 13 episodes. Hosted by designer Jillian Harris and real estate expert Todd Talbot, the series finds Vancouver homeowners grappling with whether they should sell or renovate their properties. Production on season four is currently underway and will premiere on the net this fall.
