Former Channel 4 executive Madeleine Knight (pictured) has been named director of development and formats for Talpa Media UK, the British division of the global content company.

In her new post, Knight will be responsible for overseeing the development of original and existing formats in the UK by the ITV-owned production outfit.

Talpa-made formats that have previously broadcast across the UK include The Voice, Dating in the Dark and Divided. The Netherlands-headquartered producer has created more than 100 shows for transmission in 180 countries over the past six years.

Following ITV’s acquisition of The Voice creator in March 2015, Talpa Media operates as a separate business unit within ITV Studios.

“Talpa’s goal is to create global impact with our content,” said Maarten Meijs, MD of Talpa Global in a statement. “The expansion of our format portfolio in the UK is a crucial part of our strategy, and to be able to reach that goal we’ll work together with the fantastic network of companies within ITV Studios.”
