Mariah Carey will star in an eight-episode docuseries for E!.

The NBCUniversal-owned cable net confirmed the tabloid rumors this week by announcing Mariah’s World, a one-hour series that will follow the pop superstar as she heads out on her 28-date Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour of Europe, the UK and Africa while planning her wedding to Australian billionaire James Packer.

The Real World and Keeping Up With The Kardashians producer Bunim/Murray Productions and Magic Carpet Productions are behind Mariah’s World, which promises a glimpse at Carey’s private life, family, friends and inner circle.

“The series will present a unique, vulnerable and surprisingly humorous side to Mariah that her fans have never before seen while showcasing her unparalleled celebrity lifestyle filled with true glamour, maximum luxury and ultimate stardom,” said Jeff Olde, exec VP of programming and development at E!, in a statement.

According to a report in The New York Times, the show is expected to debut in late summer. Production began two weeks ago as Carey wrapped up a Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace.

Mariah’s World is exec produced by Bunim/Murray’s Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins and Farnaz Farjam along with Carey and her manager Stella Bulochnikov.
