A&E Network is in development on a showcase series with rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Tentatively titled 50 Cent Presents, the Back Roads Entertainment-produced series will find Jackson curating comedic, musical and performance acts for a variety series. He will also serve as host of the showcase, which will combine sketches, stand-up, “reality experiments,” music, magic, dance and celebrity guest appearances.

“I grew up watching variety shows and am excited to put my own spin on the format,” said Jackson in a statement. “I hope everyone is ready to bring their talent forward, I want to show the world the best of the best.”

Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive VP and head of programming at A&E, said the network was looking to “redefine the traditional variety show.”

“50 Cent is the perfect partner to refresh this classic format. He is a true tastemaker across industries and we are excited to see his impressive showcase of talent,” said the exec in a statement.

Executive producers for G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. include Jackson and Stephen J. Savva, while Colby Gaines is exec producing for Back Roads Entertainment. Executive producers at A&E Network include Frontain Bryant, Brad Holcman and Sean Gottlieb.
