NBC orders Jenna Dewan Tatum dancing competition

The American broadcast network has greenlit an as-yet-untitled dancing competition series starring actor and dancer Jenna Dewan Tatum (pictured).

Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan Tatum (pictured) will star in a new dancing competition series on U.S. broadcaster NBC.

The six-part, as-yet untitled series will see the 10 Years actress serving as a judge and mentor on the program, which is described by the network as a fresh take on the dance competition genre. Actor Channing Tatum – Dewan Tatum’s husband – will also appear in the series.

The series is produced by Endemol Shine North America, Free Association and Purple Cup Productions, which marks the first series order for Dewan Tatum’s studio.

Channing Tatum, Peter Kiernan, Reid Carolin, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Meegan Kiernan serve as executive producers on the competition series.

NBC’s primetime line-up currently features such hit unscripted series as Little Big ShotsThe Voice, America’s Got Talent and American Ninja Warrior.
