“Bake Off,” “Murder Detectives” receive BAFTA TV nods

The Great British Bake Off, The Murder Detectives (pictured) and Gogglebox are among the factual and reality series to score television award nominations from the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) this year.

The House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards, which honor the best of British television to air in the preceding year, include categories for best factual series, reality and constructed factual, specialist factual, documentary, features, entertainment program, current affairs and live event.

Programs nominated in the factual category are Minnow Films’ The Detectives; Films of Record’s children’s hospital series Great Ormond Street, Films of Record’s The Murder Detectives and Renegade’s The Tribe.

Meanwhile, reality series that received nods are Twenty Twenty’s First Dates, Studio Lambert’s Gogglebox, ITV Studios’ I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and RDF Media’s The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds.

This year’s ceremony takes place at London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 8 – two weeks after the BAFTA’s Television Craft Awards are given out on April 24.
