Former Entertainment One exec Charlotte Thorp is joining the UK arm of Lionsgate as senior VP and head of television sales for Europe.

Thorp will be based in the producer/distributor’s London office and head up licensing for film and TV programs for broadcast, cable and digital in the UK and Europe.

Her appointment is part of the company’s ongoing plan to expand its presence in the European market and comes after CEO Zygi Kamasa’s mandate was expanded to include Europe.

As senior VP, head of film and TV sales for eOne Film UK and eOne Television International, she led the film and TV sales teams. She joined eOne in 2010 from Hanway Films and prior to that held positions at MTV Networks and HIT Entertainment Plc in the UK.

“She is ideally qualified to help us diversify our company as we continue to build the Lionsgate television brand in the UK and expand our content pipelines around the world,” Kamasa said in a statement. “She will be an integral part of our increased focus on the exciting opportunities that are emerging throughout the European marketplace.”
