Phil Keoghan to host Realscreen Awards

The host and co-executive producer of The Amazing Race will take the stage at the June 9 event being held in Santa Monica and honoring the best in non-fiction and unscripted entertainment.

Phil Keoghan, longtime host and co-executive producer of The Amazing Race, will serve as host of this year’s Realscreen Awards on June 9 in Santa Monica.

The event, honoring the best in non-fiction and unscripted entertainment, will be held during the Realscreen West conference at Santa Monica’s Fairmont Miramar.

Phil Keoghan has been telling stories in front of a television camera for almost 30 years. He has worked in over 100 countries as an actor, author, speaker, television host, producer, director and cameraman on thousands of program episodes. His work has earned numerous awards including: 10 primetime Emmy Awards as a producer and host of the hit CBS series The Amazing Race; a World Class New Zealand Award; The 2011 Dorothy Corwin Spirit of Life award for services to MS; a 2012 Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award and the Endurance Live Celebrity Athlete of the Year 2013. Keoghan was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2014 for his services to television and tourism.

The Realscreen Awards annually recognizes the best in non-fiction and unscripted entertainment from around the world. Nominees for this year’s edition were recently announced. For more information on the event, visit the official website.
