Cinetic Media launches int’l sales division

New York-based film and media firm Cinetic Media has launched an international sales division with Jason Ishikawa (pictured) at the helm.

Cinetic will now be working with existing sales, management and finance teams to “devise strategies” on film finance and worldwide sales. They will also acquire international sales rights.

Most recently, Ishikawa served as senior director of acquisitions, financing and sales at The Film Sales Company, joining the New York-based distributor in 2009. In the time since, the exec has managed the sales of more than 100 documentary and narrative titles across international and domestic territories. Additionally, he helped raise financing for a number of fiction and non-fiction projects.

While the sales and distribution company – which also specializes in film finance, talent management and corporate consulting – has previously focused on domestic sales, the international sales division will serve as an independent entity and is to work with filmmakers to craft the best strategy for each film.

“Jason is the perfect fit for our team” said Cinetic founder John Sloss in a statement. “With his enthusiastic love and understanding of film and his knowledge of worldwide rights and markets, we feel he’ll be a major asset to us as we continue to expand our services.”
