FilmRise teams up with Content Media

U.S. film and TV distributor FilmRise is expanding its reach overseas.

The Brooklyn-based company has recruited Content Media Corporation as its international sales arm. Content will handle all sales for FilmRise outside North America.

Last fall, FilmRise revealed it had raised more than $25 million to finance the acquisition and licensing of film and TV titles for all distribution channels.

Recent additions to its 6,000-plus title catalog include 2016 festival docs such as National Bird, The Bad Kids (pictured), Reset and Holy Hell.

Other FilmRise titles include Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Janis: Little Girl Blue and The Witness, as well as TV series Years of Living Dangerously and Forensic Files.

FilmRise’s expansion comes just a week after New York-based film and media firm Cinetic Media announced its own international sales division.
