UK commercial broadcaster ITV has ordered a dating series hosted by television presenter and model Holly Willoughby (pictured).

Produced by ITV Studios, Meet the Parents will see an unattached individual asking the parents of potential mates anything they want, with the parents openly sharing everything in regards to their offspring’s past relationships, grooming habits and embarrassing childhood stories.

The potential mates will be able to see and hear everything their parents are saying about them with no control over what is revealed. However, if mom and dad expose too much, the child can make one phone call to speak with them.

Once “the picker” has finished peppering each set of parents with questions, they must choose a person to head out on a date with. But before they meet their chosen date, they must first meet the matches they turned down.

Meet the Parents¬†will be exec produced by ITV Studios’ Lee Connolly and Ben Kelly. It was commissioned by ITV’s head of comedy entertainment Peter Davey and will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
