Christina Aguilera (pictured), Ellie Goulding, Joan Jett, Dave Matthews, Usher and Steven Tyler are lending their voices to a family-friendly wildlife series that premieres on Discovery Channel in July.

The six-episode Hello World! pairs a song from each artist’s catalog with wildlife footage to make connections between the music’s themes and stories of survival in the natural world. The group of singers each narrate an episode.

For example, R&B singer Usher’s “Stronger” soundtracks the tale of a sea turtle facing adversity, while Aguilera’s “Light up the Sky” is used in an episode about maternal caregivers, such as a mountain goat and a cheetah, protecting their young. Meanwhile, Jett’s “Bad Reputation” features in an episode on predators such as wolves, alligators and sharks.

The series is produced by RadicalMedia and presented in association with the World Wildlife Fund. Discovery will premiere Hello World! on July 9 and air two back-to-back episodes over three weeks.

Joe Killian, Dave Sirulnick, Jon Kamen, Justin Wilkes and Discovery’s John Hoffman are exec producing.
