All3Media is backing London-based factual indie producer Caravan.

Founded last year by Dinah Lord and Juliet Singer, the company’s recent credits include Panorama - Britain’s Mental Health Crisis and A Royal Wedding: Indian Style. Caravan is also in production for Sky Arts, BBC3 and NHK and has funded development projects from Discovery Networks International, Channel 4 and ITV.

The terms of the deal between Caravan and the Discovery Communications- and Liberty Global-owned producer and distributor were not disclosed.

Keith Haviland, an indie film producer and CEO of Haviland Digital, is also backing Caravan and will join its board.

Lord previously spent five years exec producing for Brook Lapping, Swan Films, Silver River and Pulse Films, and prior to that was a producer at the BBC. Singer has developed, produced and directed factual programming for the BBC and UK indies such as Wall to Wall, Silver River and The Garden.

In April, All3Media entered into a joint venture with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay to launch Studio Ramsay, a next generation multi-media production outfit slated to create content in the food space.
