UKTV’s Really greenlights Raw Cut’s cop series
UKTV-owned channel Really has commissioned Raw Cut to produce the factual series The Cops (16 x 60 minutes, working title). The show will follow Staffordshire Police officers, who wear body cameras while on patrol. The Cops is in pre-production and will air on Really later in the year. UKTV’s Victoria Summer is executive producing and the exec producers for Raw Cut are Bill Rudgard, Steve Warr and Jane Lomas. Really launched in 2009 and airs rescue, crime, paranormal and lifestyle programming.
French distributor Lucky You launches international sales division
Paris-based distributor Lucky You is expanding into international feature film sales. The two-year-old shop has added Xavier De Lauzanne’s Sunny Side of the Doc-bound Little Gems (Les Pépites) to its catalog, which includes 460 hours from more than 30 television documentary producers. During this year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest and Sunny Side of the Doc, Lucky You will be pitching projects Looking Through the Pyramids, an international copro presold to around 10 international broadcasters, the history project The Treaty of Rome, the science films Tricky Memory and Dream Babies, and several blue-chip wildlife projects.
Beyond Distribution sells 80 hours to UK network Pick
Sky-owned, free-to-air channel Pick has acquired 80 hours of programming from Beyond Distribution. The deal includes seasons one and three of Highway Cops (20 x 30 minutes), seasons 13 and 16 of Motorway Patrol (30 x 30 minutes) and seasons four and five of Highway Patrol (20 x 30 minutes). All three programs are produced by Greenstone TV and follow New Zealand’s and Australia’s finest as they endeavor to keep roadways safe in their respective countries. Sky acquisitions executive Charlie Charalambous and Beyond’s Marzenna Czubowicz negotiated the deal.
