Netflix has ordered a reality series featuring social media star Cameron Dallas.

The 21-year-old Californian first rose to fame on Twitter-owned video app Vine and now has more than 35 million followers across various platforms.

The as-yet-untitled series is being produced by Magical Elves (Top Chef) and Brillstein Entertainment.

Cameras will follow Dallas and his friends and family as he looks to advance his career while exploring “the stark contrast between his very public online persona and who he is in his personal life,” according to the show description from Netflix.

Magical Elves’ Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth are exec producing alongside Brillstein Entertainment partners Ben Curtis, Sanford Wernick and Jon Liebman. Dallas and Bart Bordelon also serve as EPs.

Dallas has previously starred in the drama The Outfield for Fullscreen and the comedy Expelled for Awesomeness TV. He also appeared in NBC’s American Odyssey last year.

This is the second Netflix series to feature a social media star. The streaming platform previously ordered the eight-episode scripted show Haters Back Off based on Colleen Ballinger-Evans’ YouTube character Miranda Sings.

Dallas is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and attorney Adam Kaller.
