Steve Macallister, chief executive for the distribution arm of All3Media, has left the company after a year and a half in the post.
The departure, which occurred sometime last week, was confirmed by All3Media chief executive Jane Turton, after the story broke via UK trade TBI Vision.
“We’d like to thank him for his work and wish him all the best for the future,” said Turton in the brief statement confirming Macallister’s departure.
Macallister was named chief exec at All3Media International in January of last year, following his exit as CEO of Zodiak Rights in November of 2014. At the time, he was replacing Louise Pederson, who left her post as MD at All3Media International to join the London office of former HBO exec Colin Callender’s Playground Entertainment.
Prior to joining Zodiak Rights in January 2014, Macallister served as MD of sales and distribution at BBC Worldwide for six years. Before this, the exec worked across various positions at The Walt Disney Company for 14 years, finally serving as senior VP and MD of Buena Vista International Television Asia Pacific.
For the time being, All3Media’s EVP of commercial development, Gary Woolf, and chief financial and operating officer, John Wagener, will handle Macallister’s duties while a replacement is sought.
During his tenure at the superindie, Macallister oversaw its expansion into the U.S., which included the hiring of former A+E executive Sally Habbershaw, and its planned Asian expansion.
