ITV has ordered a documentary on British diver Tom Daley from producer Twofour.

Tom Daley: Diving For Gold profiles the Olympic athlete between 2012 and 2016 as he prepares to compete in the Rio Games this August under a new coach, Jane Figueiredo.

Daley previously represented the UK at the London Olympic Games, where he won a bronze medal.

The film also focuses on Daley coming out as gay via a YouTube video in 2013 and revealing his relationship with Oscar-winning Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. The couple announced their engagement last year.

Neil Edwards is exec producing the doc and Chris Williams is producing and directing. The program is to air later in the summer.

Twofour previously produced two documentaries on Tom Daley – including Tom Daley Goes Global – and two seasons of the ITV celebrity diving series Splash!, which the diver co-presented.
