Passion names head of acquisitions

The London-based distribution firm has appointed former Banijay International exec Jimmy Humphrey (pictured) to the newly created role of head of acquisitions, effective August 1.

London-based sales house Passion Distribution has appointed former Banijay International exec Jimmy Humphrey (pictured) to the newly created role of head of acquisitions, effective August 1.

In his new role, Humphrey will oversee the development, acquisition and distribution roll-out of Passion’s content strategy. He will report to Passion CEO Emmanuelle Namiech.

Most recently, Humphrey served as VP of sales and acquisitions at Banijay International, where he was responsible for acquiring the global rights to series and formats for the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Scandinavia, North America and Asia-Pacific. In addition, he was charged with establishing and fortifying ties with such partners as the UK’s Lambent Productions.

Prior to this, Humphrey served as a research executive and development and acquisitions executive at FremantleMedia, and was also an acquisitions executive at Shine International before its merger with Endemol.
