UK distributor DCD Rights has named former Passion Distribution exec Philippa Chuter  (pictured) to the newly created role of senior acquisitions executive.

Chuter will be charged with expanding the company’s factual slate as well as developing relationships with new and existing producers.

She will report into head of acquisitions Pilar Perez, whose strategic focus will shift to lead DCD’s push into drama acquisitions and copro opportunities.

Chuter most recently served as an acquisitions executive at Passion Distribution, where she was responsible for securing new producer relationships and content for international distribution. She began her career at BBC Worldwide in Sydney, Australia.

She recently served as a judge at last month’s Realscreen West Awards.

DCD Rights CEO Nicky Davies Williams said in a statement that continued increases in program acquisitions funding and the expansion of the company’s drama catalog and copros have been “key accelerators” in expanding the team.
