Sky Italia-owned free-to-air channel TV8 has commissioned a local version of FremantleMedia Italy and Syco Entertainment’s variety format Kid’s Got Talent.

The series will strip away the competitive element of its parent Got Talent format by showcasing children aged 11 and under as they perform their unique abilities free from competition or a judging panel.

The entertainment format will be hosted by Italy’s Got Talent judge Claudio Bisio (pictured).

The Got Talent franchise is one of the most successful reality formats worldwide, with 69 localized adaptations throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

“We decided to make it non-competitive to emphasize the fun aspect, enabling the children to perform their talent without having to worry about the opinions of the judges,” said Lorenzo Mieli, CEO of FremantleMedia Italy, in a statement.
