Simon Nichols is to depart GroupM Entertainment as MD of Asia-Pacific after more than five years in the position, a company spokesperson has confirmed to realscreen.

GroupM Entertainment’s head of commercial Guna Kaliannan, head of programming Steven Murphy and Asia-Pacific content CEO Josh Black will now oversee the business across the region.

Nichols is leaving to pursue new opportunities.

“During Simon’s tenure, GroupM Entertainment grew tremendously,” the company said in a statement. “He leaves behind a geographically diverse and robust business and a capable team.”

GroupM Entertainment is a global content investment and rights management company that looks to create, finance, produce, distribute and commercialize content.

The firm is part of New York-headquartered GroupM, a leading full-service media investment management operation, which was formed by WPP Group in 2003.
