Objective Media Group gets Angel wings

All3Media-owned Objective Media Group has appointed former Syco Entertainment exec Matthew Angel as chief operating officer.

Angel (pictured)¬†will lead both the legal and business affairs and finance teams when he joins the prodco in October. Additionally, he will be charged with overseeing all commercial activity and boosting the shingle’s creative restructure by expanding to new territories.

Angel joins Objective from Simon Cowell’s Syco where he has served as global head of legal business affairs since 2012. Most recently, he negotiated three-year deals with ITV for Syco’s Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.

Before joining Syco, Angel served as controller of legal and business affairs at All3Media and headed up ITV Studio’s legal and business affairs non-scripted team.

Earlier this year, Objective launched primetime studio entertainment label Panda Television and established fact-ent label Second Star Productions.
