Turner marketing exec Dennis Camlek joins Nat Geo

National Geographic Global Networks has hired former Turner Broadcasting exec Dennis Camlek as executive VP of strategy and consumer marketing.

National Geographic Global Networks has hired Dennis Camlek as executive VP of strategy and consumer marketing.

The former Turner exec will oversee programming-specific marketing efforts in the United States, as well as work with the network’s marketing heads in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

He will be based in Washington, D.C. and report to National Geographic Partners’ soon-to-be announced chief marketing officer.

Camlek previously worked as a senior VP in strategic media planning, investment and placement at Turner Broadcasting System’s Turner Media Group. In that role, he worked with agency partners to develop and execute data-driven multi-platform media campaigns for the company’s brands and series, including Animal Kingdom, Conan and The Last Ship.

Prior to joining Turner, Camlek was senior VP and group account director for PHD in New York, where he led planning for the HBO account and worked for Horizon Media where he managed the A&E Television Networks account.
