Quintus Media has signed a deal with ProSiebenSat. 1 that will see it provide programming to the start slate of the German media co’s  new documentary channel, Kabel Eins Doku (K1 Doku). The pair has agreed to a three-year pact for a total of 90 hours of programming.

Quintus programming to air on K1 Doku, a free-to-air channel that will target men between 40 and 64 years, includes science documentaries like Mighty ShipsMighty Planes and Mighty Cruise Ships from award-winning prodco Exploration Production Inc; history titles such as  The Rise of the Nazi Party and Great Crimes and Trials from indie prodco IMG; and Deadly Shootouts from U.S.-based Principal Media. The docket includes a number of other original factual docs and series.

In other deals news, Blue Ant International has signed exclusive deals with a number of international prodcos in a bid to scale its business with an expanded offering that includes its largest slate of series and documentaries to date.

Leading up to MIPCOM 2016, the distributor will give exclusive distribution control of the prodco’s 200-plus titles, including long-running series The Liquidator (91 x 30 HD) (pictured) and reality series Hail Mary (11 x 30 HD) to Canadian TV prodco Anaid Productions.

Blue Ant has also signed new distribution deals with Pyramid Productions for conten,  including feature documentaries The Salvation of Todd Bentley (1 x 90 HD) and Goalie: Life In The Crease (1 x 90 HD), and with Spotlight Productions for two long-running food series, Good Taste: Chinese (50 x 30) and Good Taste: South Asian (50 x 30 HD).

Building its recent production and distribution output deal with Blue Ant, CMJ Productions is delivering three new series, Boogeymen (26 x 60 HD), Bad Trip (13×60 HD) and Home Made (26 x 60 HD). Also, as part of a deal Blue Ant signed with Plimsoll productions earlier this year with its Love Nature channel, the distributor has secured new UHD wildlife and nature hours from the prodco for Camp Zambia, a two-year 4K natural history project from the two that is producing 50 hours of 4K wildlife and nature content. T

Finally, Endemol Shine has closed new deals for two new formats ahead of MIPCOM.

Big Music Quiz, created by Shine France, has landed a first series in Italy on Rai 1. Produced by Endemol Shine Italy, the musical gameshow will be hosted by Amadeus and will air a four-part primetime run in December.

Endemol Shine Netherlands has also been commissioned by RTL4 to produce eight primetime episodes to air in 2017. The format has now rolled out in five territories, most recently in Australia and Germany.
