Maryland Public Television (MPT) has named former education exec Suzanne Schwertman as its VP and chief financial officer, succeeding the recently retired Marty Jacobs.
Schwertman (pictured) will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the finance and accounting department as well as the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission’s budget and compensation committee. She will also serve on the MPT Audit Committee and the Audit and Investment committees of the MPT Foundation.
Most recently, Schwertman served as COO and CFO for the Maryland School for the Deaf, a post she held for nearly 17 years. Prior to this, she served as deputy chief of general accounting for the State of Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and as fiscal specialist for the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents in Rockville.
Founded in 1969, Maryland Public Television is a non-profit, state-licensed public television network and member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
