Carim Aadam has been named co-MD of ZDF Enterprises-owned prodco doc.station Medienproduktion as Hartmut Klenke is set to retire by January 2017.

Following Klenke’s (pictured) retirement, Aadam will become the sole MD of the Hamburg, Germany-based doc.station, a role he has taken on in addition to his duties as CEO of Mainz-based ZDF Digital Medienproduktion.

“In Hamburg, Hartmut Klenke has built an excellent company for non-fiction program formats,” said Stephan Adrian, EVP and CFO at ZDF Enterprises and chair of doc.station’s supervisory board, in a statement. “We thank Hartmut Klenke for his impressive achievements and we are pleased that he is supporting us in the succession management.”

Aadam has served as MD of ZDF Digital since 2014. During this time, he has overseen a raft of program and production realignments, and has adjusted the company to digitization.

Prior to joining ZDF, he has held a variety of senior positions at Multipass Media, FormatSchmiede and News and Pictures.

“We believe that he is just the right person to continue to maintain and recharge the doc.station brand,” Adrian said of Aadam.
