Manchester-based consultancy firm K7 Media has appointed former Endemol Shine top exec Gary Carter to its board of directors.

Serving as a non-executive board member, Carter (pictured) will head up a new business consultancy division that offers strategic advice to top level management following increased demand from the firm’s global client base.

Carter most recently served as co-CEO of Endemol Shine Group, where he oversaw the launch of such popular reality programs as Big Brother and The X Factor.

Formerly Shine chair for Northern Europe and Shine 360, he became co-CEO of Endemol’s international operations alongside Martha Brass following a 2014 merger between Fox-owned Shine Group and Apollo-controlled Endemol and Core Media Group.

The appointment to K7′s board cements the firm’s standing as a leading media intelligence resource, offering bespoke research services to broadcasters, producers, distributors and advertisers across the world.

He joins K7′s MD Keri Lewis Brown, projects director Phil Birchenall and non-executive director Clare Thompson on the company’s board.
